Avni's POV

I started opening the pins one by one, my fingers fumbling in frustration.

"Yeh pin toh khatam hi nahi ho rahi hain," I murmured, growing impatient as each pin seemed more stubborn than the last.

Suddenly, a knock at the door made me pause.

"Avni, are you inside?"

It was Vihaan.

"Haan, main andar hoon," I replied, nodding unconsciously as I worked on removing the last pin.

As soon as I unpinned the pallu from my chest, a sharp gasp escaped my lips. My skin-around my waist and cleavage-was covered in red patches. A burning sensation spread across my body, making me wince.

Vihaan's POV

I entered our room, only to find it empty. My eyes scanned the space until they landed on the locked washroom door. A frown crept onto my face.

I knocked once. "Avni?"

A muffled reply followed. "Haan, main yahan hoon."

I exhaled, remembering how she had been uneasy since the rituals. She had whispered earlier that her skin was itching terribly, but I hadn't been able to ask more in front of everyone.

Just then, a sharp scream echoed from inside. My heart lurched.

"Avni? Avni! Kya hua?Are you okay? Tum chillayi kyun?" I asked, my voice tight with worry.

A sniffle followed, then her distressed voice. "Vihaan, my entire skin is red... I don't know what's happening to me."

"Relax, ... kuch nahi hua. Open the door and show me what happened." I softened my voice, trying to keep her calm.

"Nahi, nahi... please don't come inside. I'll manage," she said, her voice laced with panic.

I sighed, pressing my forehead against the door. "Avni, agar tum nahi dikhaogi toh main kaise samjhunga ki kya hua? Hmm?"

"Please, Vihaan..." she pleaded, hesitation clear in her tone.

I exhaled deeply, my voice gentle yet firm. "I'm your husband, jaan. Why are you feeling nervous? I would never do anything to make you uncomfortable. Just trust me, once."

A few seconds of silence passed before I finally heard the door click open.

Author's POV

Vihaan stepped inside, his eyes immediately landing on Avni, who stood clutching her saree tightly to her chest. Her fingers trembled slightly, her cheeks flushed in both discomfort and shyness.

He offered her a comforting smile. "Dikhao woh area," he said, turning her gently by the shoulder.

With hesitant hands, Avni pulled the saree down from her chest, revealing her blouse and the half-undone saree draped loosely around her waist.

Vihaan's gaze softened as he scanned her irritated skin. "Ohhoo... you've got rashes, jaan." He traced the inflamed patches carefully, ensuring not to hurt her.

She bit her lip, her eyes searching his face. "Aur isi wajah se itna itch ho raha tha,"

he murmured thoughtfully. "I think it's because of the saree fabric-it's probably reacting to your skin."

Avni looked at him helplessly. "Ab kya karu?" she asked innocently.

His fingers gently rubbing over the rash in slow, soothing strokes. "Pehle toh yeh saree hatao. Then, I'll get some ointment for you."

Avni's eyes widened. "Yeh... yeh saree hatau?!" she stammered, her grip on the fabric tightening.

'I mean to say...wear something more comfortable...some cotton clothes..I'll handle the rest..' he shook his head with a chuckle.

A soft blush dusted Avni's cheeks as she nodded.

Vihaan walked to his study room to fetch the ointment, leaving Avni alone with her thoughts. She exhaled softly, her fingers grazing over the irritated skin. The burning sensation had slightly subsided, but the discomfort lingered.

Obeying his instructions, she quickly changed into a light cotton salwar kameez, the soft fabric providing immediate relief against her sensitive skin.

A few moments later, Vihaan returned, holding the ointment in his hand.

"Yeh lo... Apply it carefully on the affected areas, but make sure not to rub it too harshly," he instructed, handing her the tube. His voice was gentle yet firm, his concern evident in his eyes.

She took the ointment hesitantly, but before she could turn away, he spoke again.

"Let me apply it on your back. Tumhaara haath wahan tak nahi jaayega. Baaki tum khud laga lena, hmm?" he asked, waiting for her consent instead of assuming.

Avni looked up at him, her heart skipping a beat at his consideration. He didn't rush, didn't impose-just stood there, patient and calm, waiting for her consent.

Slowly, she nodded.

Vihaan stepped closer and dipped his fingers into the ointment before gently applying it to her back. His touch was featherlight, careful, as if he feared hurting her. Avni shivered slightly-not from discomfort, but from an unfamiliar warmth spreading through her.

Her gaze remained fixed on him, an unspoken emotion swirling in her eyes. He was fully concentrated on what he was doing, ensuring she was comfortable. Not even once did he overstep his boundaries, nor did he make her feel uneasy. The way he sought her consent every time-it was something she wasn't used to.

Breaking the silence, she asked softly, "Aapke paas har tarah ki medicine available hain ghar mein?"

Vihaan paused for a second before meeting her gaze.

"Hmm? Nahi, sab toh nahi... par jo zaroori hain, woh sab available hain," he replied, his deep eyes searching hers.

After freshening up Avni came outside to see he was setting up both of pillows properly and waiting for her to join the bed..

He pats the side of his bed asking her join him..

As she lay beside him, facing opposite the him. Her breath hitched when he wraps his one arm around her waist pulling her close such that her back touches his broad chest..

She stiffened at first but got visibly relaxed.

'Ek baat puchu tumhse?' he ask caressed her palm.

She nods her head.

'Why do you hate doctors so much?' he asked.

Listening to his question, she just pout, 'Agar batai na toh aap hasenge mujhpe'.

He got surprised as he stared at her, ' Aree why would I ??'

She pull her head back to see his face. But all she got he is saying seriously..

She then explained how one dog bite hard on her leg in her childhood and that doctor how badly scolded her while injecting her harshly..

'Sab doctor khadoos hote hain...unko hum logo k dard dikhai hi nahi dete' she murmurs..

'Ek baat batau, toh mein kya khadoos dikhta hu tumhe??' he asked caressing her hair.

She bits her lips shaking her head.

'Then tumhne pehle se hi kyu assume kar liya ki mein khadoos hu?'

She didn't reply anything.

He smiled planting a kiss on his head, ' I know jab bhi koi sunte hain ki ye insaan gynecologist hain..tab mann mein darr sa hone lagta hain..I can understand..but always remember one thing..I will never hurt my wife'

She looks at him, 'Pakka na??'

He smiled nodded his head, 'Pakka only when you never try to hide anything from me ...chahe jo bhi ho..you'll always inform if you are facing any problem okay??'

She meekly nodded her head..

'Chalo ab soh jao..it was a long tiring day for both of us...' he whisper patting her head..

Sometime later, Avni shifted in her sleep, instinctively turning toward him. She snuggled closer, pressing her face into the crook of his neck. A soft sigh escaped her lips.

Smiling, he tightened his hold around her waist, pulling her even closer.
