Author's POV:-

It was 7pm in evening when a young woman return from office after a long tiring day.

She rang the doorbell of her apartment as face scrunch with stomach cramps. She bleeds heavily on her second period along with the cramps.

As the door open, her face lit up with tired smile seeing the person standing infront of her.

'Laoo bag doh mujhe' the person took her bag from her shoulder. Without any hesitation she back hug that person by wrapping her arms around his waist.

She let out a deep breath closing her eyes.

'Aarushi??' the person calls her softly caressing her knuckles.

'Hmm???' she hummed pressing her cheek more.

The person turn around and she then hugged him by placing her head on his chest.

'Jao jaake fresh ho jao..I have already taken out your clothes' he murmurs caressing her hair.

'Hmm bas 5 minute aise hi hug karne do Avi...I am feeling better' she murmurs.

'You will feel more when you change into fresh clothes' he murmurs trying to drag her to the room.

'Aaaaa Aviiiii I hate you!!!' she whines slapping his chest in irritation.

He smiles listening to her complaint and pushes her inside the bathroom.

Inside, Aarushi blinked in surprise. Her fresh salwar kameez was neatly laid out on the counter along with her innerwear. A soft towel was hanging beside them, and the warm water in the bucket was already prepared. The scent of her favorite body wash—the one she always used during her periods—filled the air.

Curious, she opened the drawer—and there it was, a fresh packet of sanitary pads already placed inside.

A sigh of relief escaped her lips as she stood under the warm water, her tense muscles gradually relaxing. Unknowingly, a smile crept onto her face.

She doesn't even told him that she got her period yesterday but still he gets to know everything without saying anything.

'Sab toh bina kahe jaan jate ho aap?? Par yeh kyu nahi samaj paate ki how much I love you Avijeet??' she murmurs scrubbing her hand with foam.

'Kitna signal diye meine aapko ..par aapko toh kuch samaj mein hi nahi aate mein kya chahati hu..kitna buddhu ho aap inn sab cheez mein...' she complains cutely but then a smile broke out from her lips thinking how he took care of her.

In these eight months of marriage, she had come to understand her husband well. Avijeet wasn’t the kind of man who believed in grand romantic gestures or flowery words. For him, love was woven into the small things — taking care of her needs, ensuring her comfort, and always being by her side. He had never touched her without consent, never overstepped boundaries — not that she was complaining.

But sometimes… just sometimes, she longed to see his passionate side. She wanted to feel that rush — the butterflies in her stomach, the way romance unfolded in the movies.

Aarushi’s POV:

"Aap itne unromantic kyun hain, Avijeet?" I muttered to myself, rinsing the foam off my hands.

"Ek baar bhi man nahi hota apni wife ko gale lagao... thoda unko pyaar karo? We didn't even have our first kiss.." I sighed, my thoughts racing.

'Ohh my poor virgin lips!!!' I cried dramatically..

"Control, Aarushi," my brain warned.

"Kya desperate ladkiyon ki tarah baat kar rahi hai?"

"Toh kya hua agar bata rahi hoon toh?" I argued back as blush crepts over my cheeks.

"Aakhir husband hi toh hain mere, mein thodi na paros k ladke k baare mein baat kar rahi hoon"

I smiled to myself, shaking my head. Deep down, I knew Avijeet loved me — fiercely and deeply — even if he didn’t always show it the way I wished.

I came out of the bathroom wiping my wet hair only to see my husband keeping my necessary files and laptop back to it regular place.

I run to him throwing the towel on the sofa.

'Aarushi?' he got startled as I cupped his one cheek pulling it down to my height placing a deep kiss on his rough cheek.

'I love you Avi ' i murmurs to his cheek and pulled back.

He smiled shifting my fallen wet hair from my face.

'Thank you' he said.

My face instantly convert to poker face hearing his reply.

I expected to say me I love you too back..

'Really Avijeet?? Thankyou??' I asked with a cry face.

He looks at me confusingly and then smiled.

'Haa thank you.. because you said I love you' he said in innocent looking face.

' Haa toh aapko toh phir I love you too batana chahiye tha na??' i asked with a pout.

'Agar nahi bataya toh kya hua??' he asked me with a chuckle.

I gasped dramatically. “Does that mean you don’t love me?”

'Tumhe kya lagti hain??' he bit back his smile.

I narrowed my eyes before declaring confidently, “Of course, you love me! No doubt about that.”

'Toh I love you too nahi batane se kya mere pyaar kam ho jayegi tumhare liye? Hmm?? Nahi na??' he asked me getting back to arrange the books as I cling to his chest.

“Avijeet! Why do you have to be so practical all the time?” I whined loudly.

He laughed, rubbing his nose against mine in an affectionate gesture.

“Because I am a practical person, sweetheart. I don’t believe in all this. If simply saying ‘I love you’ increased love, then the divorce rate wouldn’t be rising every day.”

I pulled back slightly, giving him a sharp look. “Hmph! You are just impossible.”

He grinned, shaking his head. “Now come on, I’ve already prepared your favorite snacks… they’ll get cold.”

With that, he grabbed my wrist and pulled me toward the bed.

A small giggle escaped my lips as I let him lead me, my heart fluttering despite his maddeningly practical ways. Because, at the end of the day, his actions always spoke louder than words.
